So we at Tight Vibes have started having these crazy collaboration sessions (error… session, we’ve only had one).  So while this past one has been just a proof of concept for the time being it did let me get started on this track I’ve wanted to do.  I’ve always loved the part in Ratatat’s track Seventeen Years when everything but the guitars breaks away and there’s a track Knightlife with kind of a wimpy melody that does that too.  So I got some crazy hip hop style drum beats together, finally discovered the secret of the electro bass (almost) and jammed out on my Les Paul till I got some edgy tunes.  Check it out:

This track is becoming a favorite of mine, especially after hearing the original.  I watched the music video of the original on youtube and one of the comments said “man, I didn’t realize his music was getting so dancey!”.  I guess its this crazy industrial band called Buck 65 and I promise the original definitely does not sound “dancey.”  This remix definitely does and really does a sweet job with the guitars

So I have just wrapped up the third Super Squidy session and while originally these recordings were for the BLUR show I ended up taking the samples and assembling them into a real track.  It sounds pretty sweet overall I gotta say.  This is officially a DJ Beck Edit because Super Squidy is technically a live band but regardless I produced this out and I love the sound that came out.  So check it out! Awwwww yeah. Its back once again. For those of you who were out for that hot August night, you saw and felt the vibe that has become Blur. And for some of you maybe things even got a little blurry! But in any case, a good time was had by all.

So of course, we’re back once again on the last Sat of the month. We’re throwing it down in that spectacular fashion that everyone has come to know and love.

We’ve got Liqudus, who quotes ‘I’m making love to the music, man. And believe me, I can go all night!”. And you better believe that he can!

Then Schiny says ‘I smoke my records in green patures. On Tuesdays’. But he also brings the smokin’ grooves on Sat night as well

Of course DJ Beck was heard to utter ‘Its like bad speed in a can, we’ve all had bad speed haven’t we?’. After awhile you might think that its speed, but its really just that the music is that good.

Come on out, bring your friends and lovers. Bring the in-laws and the out-laws. If nothing else, just come on and bring it!
